LONDON — Jannik Sinner retained the Wimbledon men's singles crown on Sunday, defeating Alexander Zverev 6-7(7), 7-6(7), 6-3, 6-4 in the championship match at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, according to ESPN and The Guardian.
The top-seeded Italian dropped the opening set in a tie-break but recovered to claim the next three, becoming the first man to win back-to-back Wimbledon titles since Novak Djokovic in 2014–15, the ATP Tour reported. Zverev, contesting his first Wimbledon final, led early before Sinner rallied to close out the contest in just under four hours.
The victory extends Sinner's grip on the men's game following his 2024 US Open and 2025 Wimbledon triumphs. The 23-year-old said after the match, as reported by the ATP Tour, that the win "means so much" after "sacrificing everything."
In the women's draw, Linda Nosková defeated fellow Czech Karolína Muchová to claim her maiden Grand Slam title, the BBC reported, completing an all-Czech final on 11 July.
