Privacy policy
Short version: no third-party trackers, no advertising cookies, and we never store your IP address.
Reading the site
We run our own cookieless analytics to understand what is being read. For each page view we record the page path, the referring site’s hostname, a device class (mobile, tablet or desktop), and the country your connection appears to come from. The country is derived from your IP address on our own server and only the two-letter country code is kept — the IP address itself is never stored. To count unique readers we keep a salted hash that changes every day and cannot be traced back to you; no cookie is set.
Advertising
Ads on Source Reporters are sold directly and served from our own infrastructure. We count impressions and clicks, including the country a click came from, in the same IP-discarding way as above. No ad networks, no cross-site tracking, no profiles.
Contacting us
If you use the contact form we store the name, email address and message you submit so the editors can read and reply to it. We don’t use these details for anything else.
Cookies
The public site sets no cookies. A session cookie is used only for staff signing in to the editorial admin area.
