Holloway Defeats McGregor via First-Round TKO at UFC 329

UFC 329 — Max Holloway defeated Conor McGregor by technical knockout 1:09 into the first round in the welterweight main event of UFC 329, according to official results published by UFC.com.

McGregor, of Ireland, was stopped in the opening round and subsequently announced on UFC.com on 13 July that he would undergo surgery for an injury sustained in the bout.

In the lightweight bout, England's Paddy Pimblett submitted France's Benoît Saint Denis via submission at 0:52 of the first round and earned Performance of the Night honours, UFC.com reported.

Mario Bautista took a unanimous decision over Cory Sandhagen after three rounds, while Brandon Royval submitted England's Lone'er Kavanagh in the third round (3:40) to claim Fight of the Night. Bobby Green stopped Terrance McKinney by TKO at 4:59 of the first round.

The card produced a strong night for British fighters, with Pimblett's first-round finish the standout result for a UK audience following the promotion.
