LONDON — Jannik Sinner retained the Wimbledon men's singles crown on 12 July 2026, defeating Germany's Alexander Zverev 6–7(7–9), 7–6(7–2), 6–3, 6–4 in the final at the All England Club, according to the official tournament record reported by BBC Sport and ESPN.
The top-seeded Italian dropped the opening set on a tie-break before rallying to claim his second Wimbledon title and fifth Grand Slam crown overall. Zverev, the second seed, became the first man born in the 1990s to reach the final of all four majors, and the fifth man in the Open Era to finish runner-up at each of the four Grand Slam tournaments, according to the tournament record.
Sinner's victory extends a strong Italian run in men's tennis and reinforces his status as the sport's leading force on grass. The result came five days after Linda Nosková of the Czech Republic won the women's title, beating Karolina Muchova in the final on 11 July.
The 2026 Championships, the 139th edition, ran from 29 June to 12 July and featured video review for the first time in the event's history.
