KYIV — Ukraine has been given the blueprints to produce Storm Shadow missiles domestically, according to The Telegraph.
The report said the transfer of manufacturing plans would allow Ukrainian industry to build the long-range cruise weapon, reducing dependence on external supplies. The Telegraph reported that the move marks a significant step in Western backing for Ukraine's defence industry.
Storm Shadow missiles, supplied by the United Kingdom and France, have been used by Ukrainian forces to strike deep behind Russian lines, the report noted. The Telegraph said domestic production could improve sustainability of those strikes.
Officials have not publicly detailed the scale or timeline of any Ukrainian manufacturing effort, according to the report. Russia has previously condemned the use of the weapons.
